In the 406 I drive... it's got a stock Sat Nav System... could i get CD of a mate/download one and it will work?
Or would i need to get one of the dealer? ala only a certain disc will work with the pugs sat nav system

There is some compatibility, won't be a Pug unit, probably Siemens, Bosch etc. see if you can find CD from the same brand.

most of the oem sat nav system run on software from navteq. If you go to a dealer for the cd you wont get much change from £200-250
there ones on the net but there hard to get hold off and usual all have euro maps
just had a look and the navteq maps are £105 +p&p

I don't see why you couldn't copy a disc though - are you sure it's a CD system and not DVD? The one in our 2002 M3 is a tape thing
EDIT: Correction, is a CD but I have seen some tape sat nav before.
