Do you have switchable TC in the T4? Last year at Dastek some members of VVOC had to fit switches to be able to turn it off and again this year they asked us all to ensure that TC was switched off..

Maybes your car was run with the TC on?

Sounds possible... Only other thing I would say Mav is that your cat was absolutely stinking that day, more than any other ive seen on the rollers.. Could be possible that its on its way out.

stinking?

of what? Fuel?

The car running rich (due to air leak, diff in a/f ratio with filter etc) could cause it to run rich. It running rich would cause it to lose power.

Do you have the A/F ratio? Boost pressure?

I have switchable TC...Was off today unsure if it was off At Dastek as ABS light and TC were not on after my run...

Boost held right through according to operators.....No problem there...

What you mean Kano on it's way out

Wasn't stinking today though.....???? Wasn't so much a fuel smell either last week..

..which is why i wanted to know where the drag curve was on the dastek graph to see where it was getting its fly readings from

Yeah the wheel power on them all is similar just the Dastek one at the Fly which was way down...

Dunno what the smell was Des, didn't smell today on the rollers...Sounded good and no strange smells..

Still to read all that post adam will get back to it later when I have the time...

The @ fly figure is essentially an educated guess by the RR.

If both @ wheels figure are the same i wouldnt be worried about the diff at fly.

However the dip @ 4k is a bit weird. Does the boost gauge needle dip @ 4k?

Booost holds right through on the gauge no dip....

Should be 200 at the fly so I am happy with 196 at the moment..

But good that the @ wheels figures are all similar...

yes the wheel figure is what you want to judge it by Mav.

the fly figure is calculated (on most RR) by coastdown whic is as it sounds, the operator allows the engine to coast down slowly and the rollers measure the resistance through the box and running gear.

problem with this is if the straps are too tight or wrapped over the subframe this can push the car down into the rollers harder which exert more resistance during coastdown which can give dodgy fly figures. also tyre pressure will make a difference, as will gearbox oil temp.

more modern dynos have a scale which measures the strapdown pressure and weight of the vehicle which will be taken into consideration during coastdown measurement.

that dip at 4k looks a bit odd, did you get an air/fuel graph with the printouts? if not ring Gerry at dastek, give him you reg number and ask if he can print it out and send it to you, they keep all readings on file so will take mins to do. then you can overlay the 2 graphs and see if the air/fuel also has a dodgy reading at 4k. if so it will be a starting point to find out why.
