Just a quick question, I have just read an old edition of AutoExpress which got me thinking.
I ordered a brand new Fiat Punto Grande, I picked it up form the dealers and a few week later the V5 came through and said that the previous owner was Arnold Clark. Therfore it was pre regestered
Is the goods I recieved different from what I ordered?
The car will be worth less and as a result the Fianace which is based on a final amount value will be void
Is this the case or am I being paranoid?

you could effectivly say the car was pre-owned due to the v5 i'd guess...
check your receipt and details of sale see if you paid for new registration, and if you did, then the fact the car was pre-registered i dont think you should of paid for it...

i work at arnold clarke, it doesnt make a difference, because its trade, they have to be registered, becuase if it got stolen there would be no proof of who's car it actually was. you should appear as the only owner on say a hpi check.

Sounds kinda strange because dealers don't need to register the cars to themselves. They just hold the V5 in the previous owners name. Might be some kind of error so go check it out...
P.S. Good choice of car What model did you buy?

When you collect it ask them if it has the moddified brake pads and the wiring upgrade fitted.
Both the above are Fiat recalls

And the steering column plate to make is a 5* crash safe car, and if it has had the right steering rack fitted which wont fail after 100 miles They have had a few problems

Pre registered is so they can say they sold x amount of cars without lying.
What's actually happened here I don't know, could very well be what bieransri said.
