If I download this application for my mac machine so I can access windows based pcs, am I open to all the virusues and shit that comes with windows operating systems?

Well one of us posts 99% shit.
Think about it logicaly, do any of the other (limited) programs you can install on a mac expose you to any windows viruses?

Just to clarify, the Windows machine is as vulnerable as if you were sat at it. The Mac on the other hand is not.
