they done the mk3 gt and g40, then the mk4 16v, then the mk5 they made a gti, then the mk6 they made a gt, now the mk7 they do a gti again with a 1.8t.

i believe the mk4 was m reg to r reg, and the mk5 was s reg to y reg, i believe, not 100% sure.

typical, vag people not knowing about vags!!! They never made a mk6 gti, it's a mk7 gti. mk6 they done a gt (basically a fabia vrs) as it was a diesel, now they have brought out the mk7 gti with the best engine ever made, right steve?

im sure from watching that vid that they did do a 16v 1.6 polo as well as a non gti 16v 1.4

they did but that was only 90bhp, the 1.4 16v was 100bhp. i think anyway, i haven't watched the vid yet as i'm at work and it won't load

standard gt's aren't that quick, turbo lag and all that and it's same power but heavier i would of thought!

easily put, standard 106 gti will beat a standard punto gt.
But the way i see it, the punto gt has better potential because it is turbo'd.
