What are the laws regarding window tints? Which windows can you tint legally, and to what percentage? How have you tinted your windows? Do many people break these laws? Cheers.

behind a pillar = dark as you like

infront = illegal, but most of the time you only get a warning to remove them

front windows have to let in at least 70% light.normal dark smoked tint lets in 35% light smoke lets in around 50% light.

they have now upped the law to 3 points £60 fine if u have been warned and didnt take them off and they caught u again

If they are factory tints (tinted glass) then its ok. Tinting film is not allowed firward of the b pillar. Whether you get pestered or not, its illegal

it's not illegal to tint the front screen, would be silly, but thats why you can have a sunstrip that covers 30% of the screen!!

Basically, the U.K law currently states the the front driver and passenger side windows cannot be tinted with the exception of a clear security film.

The rear side windows and rear screen can be tinted with any level of shade.

The front windscreen must be free of any tint, apart from a sunstrip across the top (maximun of 6" width)
