It does slighlty, i have a 53 plate astra gsi and it has 54k on it which is high for the age of it.

Its more of an issue on older cars that more modern ones. 80s spec cars used to be classed as 'getting on' once they got to 100k, but modern engine will do 150k easily if maintained properly.

My L reg has 90k on it, but it hasn't been on the road for a year and a half now. It also has no service history. I don't think I'll be selling it though so it's not a problem...

Older cars with low mileage can be just as bad as it has likely to been doing short, journeys damaging the engine, especially if it is a 'normal' car.

My Corsa was low mileage so is my S3, would rather try get as low mileage as possible.

I like buying cars with the lowest mileage I can find. Partly because I feel its going to cause less trouble engine wise but mainly cos the higher the mileage the worse the condition of the bodywork is going to be!

millage doesnt bother me at all on german +jap cars but if it was a ford or something french wouldnt go near it

i had a t-reg 12v corsa with about 30k miles on the clock and the engine never ran very well, always things goin wrong with it like sensors and valves and all sorts of shit, spent half its life in the garage gettin fixed

my cars on 86k now, been properly service by a dealer up to 64,000 then ive serviced it myself and regulary changed plugs and oil etc runs just as sweet as my mates car on 36,000 if not better

After owning a BMW with 160k on the clock it now bothers me

NEw car will definately have under 60k on the clock!

im quite fussy on mileage, id rather go for a lower mileage car thats a bit dearer than a higher mileaged one.

my vans on 45k and the golfs on 40k, both 2003
ive owned a 113k 106 rallye before though.

i'm fussy when it comes to buying but i use my car so much, putting miles on to it doesn't bother me in the slightest as i know i'm putting good fuel in and servicing it regulary nd not ragging the bolloxs of it 99% of the time.
