I think we will have to change the title of this thread to 'CS trying to set the Liverpool squad straight'.

This thread should be about us booting you out of 2 cups and scoring 9 goals against you in a week

After reading that I think you have hit the nail on the head in terms of how he has played so far. IMO he will get better once he has got used to playing with the Arsenal way. Its definatly true that its not your normal style of team to fit into. If you are not quick with your feet etc then its going to take a while to get up to speed.

As for top3 players IMO no doubt about it - Henry, Gilberto, Fabregas. When those 3 are playing well or bad you really notice it. Gilberto is the unsung hero - much like makelele

I can understand most of the things that Rafa did with the team selection BUT there is 1 thing I just don't understand. When you are back at 5-2, they are starting to look rocky you put carriager on instead of Crouch. He can't say he's keeping in reserve as he has not been 1st choise. It was in the air where were were struggling so he was the perfect person to try and mix it up.

Rob a couple of people said that. He swapped riise for aurellio on saturday also but this seemed to change the style of play very slightly. Not sure what he was attempting there. He is frustrating in terms of not swapping players quick enough sometimes also. he can be quite conservative and sometimes seems like he doesn't want to admit his first selection didn;t work

people seem to forget that the Arsenal defence let in 3 goals ffs that's not exactly great is it

I remember when we beat Tottenham 5-4 (i think) and Mourinho said it was more like a hockey score or something surprised he hasn't said it again.

Garcia off meant he had to put a midfielder on, otherwise would of been only Gerrard, Alonso and Guthrie there and with Crouch on there would be no wide men to put crosses in. So putting Carra on for Garcia meant he could push Peltier further up to RW and Carra in at RB.

What I would of done too IMO.

I didn't see many crosses from Peltier , in fact i saw was more from Gerrard where he was pulling out from the middle.

IMO he would have been better off going for a 433 than 442 with the score line as it was

No, what I mean is with Crouch on we would of needed wide men in midfield so he could get crosses into him (not that he will get his head on them!). 4-3-3 is not a good formation for Crouch, as he'll just be doing the exact same job Kuyt does in holding the ball up for Gerrard/Bellamy to run onto.

And TBH Crouch has been shocking at heading the ball over the last few weeks, missing great chances at Blackburn and then a few more the other week.
