hi guys
back from US. Played the PS3, had a go on madden, COD3, some basketball game (NBA2K7 i think)
overall i must say it looks exactly the same as the 360 i see nothing better than what the 360 offers in terms of graphics/gameplay. Plus games are cheaper for the 360.
Anyway speaking to the 'yanks' it seems they favour the 360 as most places had little stock of the 360's/hardware etc but had stock of PS3's. I have also heard that online play is a little poor at the moment although i didnt get to test it,
Extra cables ARE needed for HD and controllers come with a 1 year warranty on the rechargeable battery packs (after this if the battery fails a new controller IS needed)
one thing the PS3 does do is allow web browsing though, which i thought was a nice touch and free online play
I was offered a PS3 for $600 but i turned it down as TBH i couldnt justify spending the money for something that offers me nothing new

I'm sure the online capabilities will pick up over time.
So nothing we didn't really know already. Good that you could clarify though

just dont think its worth anyone buying it yet (unless you dont have a 360)

Anyone else order a HD DVD Drive from Virgin? Just had an e-mail from them saying the order was cancelled, with no explanation whatsoever.. nice.

Play and Amazon don't let you order them. Virgin did, they even had it reduced from £130 to £120. I knew they weren't in stock anywhere, but got a good price at Virgin and figured they would just send out when they had some.
It's now back upto £130 on the site, but you can still order it. I'm thinking thats why they've cancelled the order. Cuz it was on site for £120, then had a 10% off code so it ended at £110 delivered.
