When people say around me what do they mean.

There are houses around me for nearly half a mil, but if i drive 30 seconds in the other direction there are houses that cost pennies?

If I wanted to look good i'd say houses in my area cost 500k.

There are both ends of the scale within 10 mins drive from here, 50k and up to well over a million i'd say.

Same here I just think some folk are that taffy nosed they expect their going to get a house the same as they are used to living with parents

Where I live is no different from anywhere else, a nice 4 - 5 bed house costs 300-500k, but theres still plenty budget homes available if you open your eyes!!

I'll do the Daz doorstep challenge to anyone on here that says the houses are too expensive in their area, give me your postcode & i'll find you an affordable property within 10 miles of your current address!!

Scotland is no cheaper than anywhere else in the UK really, our major citys are on par with England & our ghettos are on par with English Ghettos.

There are 1 bedroom flats down the road from me cost nearly £1million. There were some 3 bedroom flats that cost £1.2 million each. My sister just bought a 3 bedroom semi detached for £250k. I live in the most expensive area for house prices in the UK outside of London. It's not being snotty, the reality is, there is no affordable housing round here. There are small houses on quite large plots of land that are being bought by development companys for £3million and being turned into flats all over the place. To pay that much for land the houses are going to be expensive.

I could have told you those 2 Ally

I thought mine were nice as they were quite chatty on the phone, but when push came to shove and they needed to get things done they were useless

Decent builders are pure craftsmen, you get what you pay for though and it seems people always want it 'cheap' which is why so many pikeys are making money doing it

Agree with everything excpet 4 and 7.
I knew the house needed a lot of work doing, and hence got it for a good price and i enjoy doing most of the work.
secondly i have quite a few mates in the trade, and they are all pretty reliable (prob only cos they are mates though).
