corsa B has a 8v and a 16v one, 8v = 82bhp and 16v = 90, mine was an 8v not really anypoint spending money on them though just drop a redtop in like i did, gonna cost you a few hundred quid to gain like 10-20bhp from them might aswell save the cash for a proper engine and have 150bhp standard if you can afford one and the insurance

If its the 8v, they last longer and take more thrashing than the 16v, but are slightly slower.
About 88-90 BHP, 0-60 in 10.5, top speed says 112, but should do more than that.
They are good to mod, nice interiors, quick cars for there age.

vauxhall 8v engines were superb engines the 8v sri mpi was a dam good engine and was proberbly one of the quickest 1.4 8v around in its day the 16v i hate dont like em one bit i would have an 8v over the ecotech anyday ok the 8v aint as fast but more reliable i have 1.2 8v spi ok it is slow as hell but never missis a beat and never let me down also 8v are so so so so easy to work on,

yea i think it is a 1.4 8v, so bhp, 0-60mph, top speed? Is the 1.4 16v any better or around the same (performance wise)

I've got loadz of bits to add on, lowering springs, alloys, bodykit, lites etc.. things ive just gathered. i own a 1.2 16v corsa & was gonna put everything on that, but i've now got a good insurance quote on a 1.4 8v sri/16v sport. so am wondering which would be best for all the mods. I've been a offered a well lookafterd (f.s.h) 1.4 8v sri, so would it be worth adding the bits to it or should i save up for a late 1.4 16v sport?

I have a 1.4 8valve corsa and its got a death rattle. Tappets are my first though or it could be the big end bearings. Cba strippin it down to fix so im puttin a gsi engine in. I wouldnt waste your time with 1.4's because you'll always want a 1.6 after that.

Not everyone wants to pay the high end insurance for a 1.6
Im doing all the mods to a 1.4sri corsa, waiting a year or two once its fully done dropping a c20let in it
