remember I couldn't get my wireless to work, well I put it down to my broadband package not being the right one...
well lovely man from india
assured me that aol will work on any package,
and after trying all sorts of ways, step by step we failed,,,,
therefore it must be the laptop!
soooooo Im going to buy a wiress card (thats what i need right?)
any recommendations?

how old is the laptop? its possible it may have one built in. we always use netgear at work

it has one yes, but it wont work, spoke to a mate local and he had same problem, he bought a card and it worked... il buy it for the pc...
you got a link liam, dont wana spend looooads just one that works,,, might buy two as my sister also has pc in her room,,,,

What make and model is your laptop?
It doesn't have a hardware switch on it by any chance?

its picking up the signal etc..
and it says connected..
but it wont let me use it,,,
my guess is that its not compatible...
my mate had same problem

just one last thing before you buy anything...
try changing the SSID on your router.

the router is protected right? to me it sounds like you just need to configure it
