Get the MG but with the 4.6 V8 engine in it
IIRC the V8 used is the same as used in Mustangs........

Vectra VXR estate if ur goin all out!! otherwise, Vectra C 1.9 150cdti or 3.0v6 diesel with big fook off turbo strapped to the side of it! goes like shit off a shovel for a diesel!!

got a couple of the v6 diesel vectra's on trial at work, they're not really suited to what we use them for but they do go well for a diesel (remap would free them up a bit!), the MG's are a bit shocking tbh (never driven the V8 one though!!)
The 1.9 CDTI vectra's are ok but the engine struggles to tow the car along a bit

Doubt you will get a decent 1.9 CDTI for 7k and it probably would'nt be the facelift one either.

Munchie, would you be willing/able to extend your budget to 10-15k, and your capacity limit to 4.6 litres?
You would need back tyres every few thousand miles though, and steer clear of the M4

Signum 2.2 rather than Vectra? imo they're much nicer.

Signum has a better image than Vectra imo anyway, especially for someone younger - I saw a V6 Turbo one in Luton that must shift. Wasn't a dodgy Halford's 'turbo' badge either, proper Vauxhall one!
EDIT: Just checked the Vauxhall website - it would have only been a dirty diesel quite quick to 60mph though, 8.5secs or something.
