any joiners on here lol stuck on a few questions with my woodtrades homework haha anyway here they are:
1. State how the coarseness of abrasives is measured.
2. Name the 3 portable power tools used to produce holes in MDF sheeting.
3. Name 3 types of power sources for portable power tools.
4.State the effect on portable planer blades when machining plywood.
5. State 2 reasons why when using portable power tools the cutting action could produce smoking at the point of contact with the tooling.
would be great if anyone could give me some answer lol cheers, Jay

1. with a spoon
2. a drill with a roundy saw attachment, with 3 different types
3. Leccy, gas and apprentise attached to a bike pedalling to power a small generator
4. it planes it
5. because you a. dropped your fag or b. set fire to it
 im sure this will REALLY help you

I thought that the higher the number, the more grit and a smoother finish (basically the opposide of what All Torque said)

It would do. The smaller grit would mean that you can fit more in a square inch, making it less abrasive and giving a smoother finish,

Cheers for them fellas, got a few more here lol:
6. Name 2 natural characteristics of softwood, which can cause difficulty when using portable power tools.
7. Explain briefly the reasons for carefully checking the arrises before stop chamfering English oak when using a portable power router.
8. Define the term delamination when applied to sheet materials.
9. Explain briefly the reason for not using a disc sander on hardwood joinery which is to be polished.

9. Explain briefly the reason for not using a disc sander on hardwood joinery which is to be polished. Some cabinet makers do actually use a disc sander, Random orbital sander on hardwood furnature without a problem. Buts its best to go with the grain to stop swirl marks.
