And what a way to answer your critics, by far the hardest worker, had more possession of the ball than any other player on the pitch and his hard work was rewarded with a goal. Real Sociedad 1-2 Real Madrid.
England re-call shortly? Discuss.

Good for him. Definatley a player you'd want in your team. Won't get a recall though.

He won't be recalled.
Did not see the match and doubt he will be recalled as he does not fit the 'young' tag that you need to fit into now.
Personally I would say he is still worthy of the squad. You only have to look at our recent performances to see that the blend of players they have at the moment is not working.
Even when he is not on form you always know he will deliver top balls into the box. Something I have not seen a lot of in recent games.

He deserves to be in the squad, but he never will be anymore because of stubborness and pride my McClaren - having Beckham back would be like admitting defeat.
Plus the decision to goto MLS hasn't helped his cause but I think Becks knows deep down that his England days are (unjustly) done.

Exactly what I thought. Tried to make a name for himself for dropping Becks. I think he SHOULD get a recall, but won't, because McLaren is a hopeless manager.

McLaren would probably get more respect if he did recall him. If it does not work we aren't going to be doing much worse than we already are..if it works it shows it was the right move (or wrong move to get rid of him in the first place)

If he doesnt play regularly for Real he shouldnt for England. He wont for them, so he wont for us.
Simple really.

So what, Age make no difference. If hes still one of the best he should play.
Teddy is an example - obviously not world class but at 40 hes still prem quality. Gilberto is 29 now but hes still in the Brazil squad as he is playing really well.

will he still be good enough in 2 years (next tournament) after playing in the US....nope.
The team we pick now should reflect what he will be picking in 2 years.

Agreed.
And yet everyone knows a decent team is a mix of youth and experience.
