XEV is a pants engine?????  NO it isn't.
Its just not quite as good as the redtop, but can happily see over 200bhp. Someone scanned in a great report on the XEV and how to tune it a few years back.
Also lighter than an XE.
Or ty to source a lightweight 2.2? Thats what the Astra has used in BTCC for years, a de-stoked 2.2 down to a 2.0 and that makes 270bhp with an air restrictor..... Not to bad in my eyes considering the old BTCC XE used to make 300bhp peak without an air restrictor.
