Absolute disgrace what they are saying (particualrly the police)
Imagine if that had happened in England
Anyone whos ever been caught in a crush will knwo how scary it is and what you would do to get out of it yet the french police think it to be violent behaviuor
KICK LILLE OUT AND BAN FRENCH STADIUMS
Its what they'd do to us

Yes of course it's forged tickets. Everytime I've been to Old Trafford the fans have been streaming through the turnstiles to the point where they're all congregating in the centre circle, it happens week in week out If the tickets were forged then the Lilles security measures clearly aren't good enough. This however stinks of the club trying to cover there arses for their own sheer fucking incompetence and ditto the Police for their dangerous over reaction and lack of communication. That stadium was dangerous from the start and not fit to host a Champions League fixture. Rant over.

Lille should be thrown out now. Firstly they made a mockery of the sport by staging a walk off, then their fans threw objects aimed at United players. They are now trying to use the over crowding as a way to get United thrown out.
I hope they don't get thrown out though and we still get to play them again. A fine would be sufficient.

If the boot had been on the other foot then this would have been condemned by UEFA within minutes. It's the same old thing, we can't shake this reputation. French fans throw missiles onto the pitch, Turkish fans throw missiles onto the pitch (so much so that Police with shields have to protect players who are taking corners) and Italian fans can play catch with Mopeds and UEFA do nothing. If however one of the fans supporting an English team has the temerity to so much as fart in the general direction of the opposing fans there is an outcry.

From my mate who was out there:
Evening chaps,Just back,Basically what happened was that we got to the ground about an hour before k.o[ive been to Lens before when we played there last and know what a shit ground it is to get into].We got stopped by the Stewards and CRS 3 times before we even got to the Ground, searched, tickets checked etc then we were escorted through an entrance that was no wider than 15 ft.We got in pretty early but as loads more started to try and get in people started getting crushed against the fences,Men,Women and Kids the lot, people started trying to get their kids over the fences and were panicing and trying to open the safety gates,1 steward tried to do this and the CRS steamed in and shut the gate basically forcing people backwards,They then started hitting out through the fence at ANYONE who was near and fired in Teargas/Pepper spray which caused everyone to run backwards up across the seats.
I was sick as were loads of others near me including women and kids.I saw a woman carried out and kids in tears,I know were no angels but the whole problem was caused by the CRS who were up for a row all night including when we left the ground. We will get the blame no doubt but there was no problems between the 2 sets of fans.

The police in most European countries are far too heavy handed from personal experience, it's not as if it discourages anything as well look at the state of the game in Italy for example.
The violence at football grounds here is virtually non-existant and something to be proud of imo. Maybe police here should be applauded for that tbh as any I have came across at football grounds have been very relaxed, friendly and helpful.

Agreed, although I always nearly walk in to a horse when leaving!

Its the inferiority complex must European countrys have about us British, because we have beaten most of them on more than one occasion in war, when our people don't have weapons in their hands they like to try and get their own back, picking on the innocent.
If I was in charge I would have launched a invasion of France after the game and totally fucked them up.

when i went to marseille last year there was trouble with ticket allocation as when we got in the ground there were no seat numbers so everyone just crushed in and when we scored we surged a good few rows forward which wasnt good for the people near the front. There were big metal fences etc but to be honest i was glad they were there as when marseille scored all their fans flooded over n tried climbing them etc. As about before the game we got herded into a warehouse where we were all searched and were kept in for pver half n hour until about 1000 fans all crushed through a door no bigger than a front door which was bad. The french fans were nobs and after the game stoned the croud for a few mins of which a few of my mates got hit !

I cant see what Lille are complaining about regarding the goal?
Also that stadium is clearly a threat to safety...forged tickets or no forged tickets they should have some sort of procedure for knowing how many are entering the stand...
I thought them days were long gone when supporters lives were put in danger..the last thing we want is another Hillsbrough...
