Can't see the problem with torrents. Maybe the public ones, but the private ones are rapid and always max out my connection.

I use u torrent never had an issue
I was under the impression you have to pay for newsgroups

Agreed, private ones are sooooo much better, get around 450kbs on alot of them, which makes 1gb go very quickly. Its hard work seeding so much though to keep your ratio.

Yep Newsgroups cost - I pay the hefty sum of $15 (about £7-8) a month, which for the stability and speed I get (I regularly download at a minimum of 6MB/Sec) I'm more than happy with, In theory I can D/L a 4.2GB DVD in around 1 1/2 Hours......
If you're happy with Torrents and I'm happy with Newsgroups then we're all happy doing our own thang yo!

I was only getting 85k a second dl vista from msdn, I didn't think i'll go and buy it instead though.
I can't understand why people would pay to get stuff illegally.
6 meg a second would be a dvd in about 15 mins btw.
You are dl at about 10Mb cable speeds.

Why pay to get stuff illegally? because I get hacked off with variable download speeds, leaving the PC on for hours on end only for people to disconnect - this way I know it's fast and stable.
As I said, if people are happy using Torrents then that's fine - I'm not here to try and convert people - I am happy with using Newsgroups having tried them both

i dont pay, im on private trackers, where you get scene releases for nothing, just keep your ratio up. basicly, as soon as a dvd is ripped, its on these sites, no way to get it faster - and all files hosted on 100mb servers
