As in on an Audi? I drove an A4 with a Tiptronic box and it was the worst car I have ever driven. They are too hesitent, especially when trying to negociate roundabouts. When you have then on manual they don't change gear quick enough. Manual is the way forwards...

Drive it before you commit, but trust me they are shit. Takes ages for them to change gear in Auto or Manual mode.

Dad's 530i Sport Auto had tiptronic function, which was shockingly poor, and that was a BMW. I can imagine the Corsa being shite.

I'd only go for flappy paddle DSG, SMG etc etc

It's all the same thing and they are all shit.

None of them are sequential - they are all auto boxes with pointless electronics. All you want is a manual. Or if you want a bit more comfort an auto...

They aren't great by pinciple. Why have an electronicly cotroled auto box which you change gear with a little button on the steering wheel? The answer is roughly because it looks like an F1 system. It couldn't be futher fron an F1 gearbox. Manual is the way forwards in this case.
