applied for a mortgage with northern rock they sent a letter asking for a reference to my brothers work (me and him getting a house)

awaiting the offer now but he works for airbus

should i be worried with the planned redundancies?

no they look at last 3 months of work, if he can show 3 consecutive months pay they wont say shit

They can still decline or impose conditions - up to the lender. Out of interest how risky do personally think it is?

They are only projecting problems which you will face.
