been thinking...
my car has made 200+ bhp out of japan since i've had it.
the 1.6 is meant to make 185bhp.
the dc2 makes around the 200bhp mark.
my car's block is still stamped as a b16b, but the 1.8 pistons/crank can be added to stroke it to a 1.8.
also, the gaskets on the inlet, and the head gasket itself, all look very new.
watched a jap video earlier and mr spoon himself was talking about how when the engine needs a wee rebuild its just as easy to stroke it.
also, the ecu i took out of the car, has dc2 scribed on the side.
that would explain the 200bhp+ and the reason a 1.6 ek9 spoon ecu made bugger all difference on the rollers....
opinions?

my guess is that the reason ot made no difference was either:
1. your ecu has already been remapped to match the spoon one
2. spoon one is a fake one

its defo not a fake.
my ecu cant be remapped.
i had my original ecu open and theres no sign of any chances.
i reckon its now a 1.8, its very common on them as its the same engine, just a few minor differences.

Even if it is a 1.8 and that explains the ECU differences, or lack of them, surely all the exuast stuff should have made a difference?

would've thought so, maybe spoon stuff isnt any better than original honda
shame i cant tell easily if its a 1.8.

Plugs out, spin it by hand to BDC, jug of water, see how much you can get in, job's a good'un

checked the ecu, it has the part number for the 98 spec dc2 integra...
i think its been stroked.

Get a Hondata Kpro ecu, bit pricey at about 700 quid (trying to save for one at the mo for my dc5), but with the spec your car is at the mo you should get some impresive bhp gains.

hondata is a nice piece of kit, but for my future plans, all i need is ignition and fuel management, which the emanage does for £230, once i have the car running correctly and everything sorted, i may upgrade to hondata, but only if i can justify the money for its features.

you can measure the stroke, get a long rod of some sort remove a plug, an get the engine to TDC, then measure how far down the rod the picson goes..... boom thats your stroke

might be a mad idea but, if you got oil or some non damaging liquid when the pistion is at the bottom of its stroke, fill it with the liquid, then syphon it out with a syringe then measure it mmultiply it by 4 and thats the cc??
or is that a idea that will never work.....

filling the cylinder with anything is a bad idea
broster has it spot-on. if only the stroke has been changed then measuring the distance from tdc to full stroke will give you the proof you need on wether it has been modified.
