www.i-websolutions.co.uk

£16 a YEAR gets you 100MB of space and 2GB of bandwidth per month (plus more like databases, subdomains, email addresses etc), which will be perfectly fine for a few pages and a decent site

For domains i use 1and1.co.uk for .co.uk domains as its £4 for two years

p.s - have recommended i-websolutions to quite a few people and they have said it was good value for uk hosted servers (can get cheaper but are hosted abroad, so slower).

Hosting can be as low as £20 a year.

Domain name will be about £5-£15 depending on what you want. You will want a .co.uk or a .com really...

Design can be pretty expensive, unless you know somone who knows how to do it and will do it on the cheap...

Also, when choosing a host remember there is not such thing as unlimited bandwidth, its a con and you will get screwed somewhere for it!

And ed, host can be cheaper than 20 quid a year and .co.uk can be little as 2 quid a year

btw, if you want a .com cheapest i have see is around 8 quid a year (so 16 quid every 2 years vs 4 quid for 2 years for a .co.uk).

as for design i would ask around and see if a friend will do it, or try it yourself. Usually you get screwed over by design companies, ripping you a new arse in the process for something that looks nothing like what you asked, then get you to pay more to fix it

£2 a year, awsome. I'm setting up a new site soon, just sorting out how we're going to program it as it's going to be a custom CMS. Doing it on the cheap so cost saving stuff is always good

If you are self employed you have to inform the IR within 3 months. Plus if you haven't earned over your tax allowence then you don't need to pay tax, and unless she charges loads I doubt she has done that with 16 customers.
