England have fined several members of their World Cup squad after they breached team discipline after their opening match of the tournament.
England lost their crucial Group C opener by six wickets against rivals New Zealand, and the incident has arisen following a night out following the defeat.
Several members of the England squad went out immediately after the game at the Beausejour Stadium, and they did not return to their hotel until the early hours of the morning.
News of their infringement only came out at breakfast, and the entire squad were then summoned to a team meeting at their St Lucia hotel at lunchtime.
England's management then fined the offenders for their breach of discipline, but the culprits were not named by officials.
"The England team management today (Saturday) announced that a number of England players had been fined by the head coach, Duncan Fletcher, after admitting to a breach of team discipline last (Friday) night," team spokesman Andy Walpole said in a statement.
"The decision followed a team meeting at noon today (Saturday) which was attended by all the players and management."
The news caps a bad day all round for Michael Vaughan's men, after losing such a crucial opening match now makes their tasking of going all the way in the Caribbean even tougher.
Duncan Fletcher will want his troops to double their efforts as they look to progress from their group, and news of several members disobeying oders after only their first match will not go down well with the coach.
England are due to play their next match of their World Cup campaign against Canada in the Beausejour Stadium in St Lucia tomorrow.
Why the fuck would you do that?! Are they dumb, did they think they'd get away with it?! Pisses me off that they are out there underperforming and doing stuff like this.
Flintoff got dropped for a similar incident, and has had his vice-captiancy taken off him. Stupid man.
