x16xe throttle body, will be using this on the inlet im having made and will be getting an egr blanking plate made aswell.

What are the hoses used for and where do they go also noticed a few sensors whilst removing this from the engine?

They are coolant hoses. Not really needed i have found when using an aftermarket inlet as they keep cool enough being so far away from the engine.

Usually the pipe at the back of the engine connects to the first pipe then it goes out through the second pipe up into the coolant bottle. You can just extent the pipe to the coolant bottle and the TB will be fine.

Must have deleted them. Its really easy to see though when fitting it. The pipe that usually goes into the TB just by-passes it straight into the coolant bottle.

Yeah they are really annoying to remove, the hardest part for me was removing the induction pipe that goes round the back of the enigne, now that was time consuming.

The only thing that was the bastard to do was the bottem bolt at the rear of the throttle body mount. The way no room to get to it from any angle

Thats what i did haha, cut it up into about 3 pieces.

I didn't have hardly any experiance of engine work before i fitted this and found it really quite easy to do! Really satisfiying once its done aswell.

Just make sure everything is air tight! And after you extend the TB wires, wrap them up to save them!

Ah yes thats another thing there was 3 sensors i unpluged whilst taking it off down by the body itself. Have i got to cut the wires and extend them or what?

This is the most tecknical thing ive done, i changed a gearbox in my old corsa but even though that took longer that was definately the more technical job.

No, you don't need to cut anything. Just unwrap the wires that come from the throttle body, there should be 2. Then pull them apart from the other wires in the loom and they will just reach to the other side, you will then have lots of wire spare as they dont need to go as far. Then just wrap tape around them.

I found it alot easier to remove battery, coolant bottle and airbox to get to every part of the engine. You will be amazed at the amount of room you have when its all done.

Don't bother putting the cooling hoses on the TB. They rub the bulkhead and then split leading to a very hot engine.

Yeah i made one for mine. You can get them from vauxhall though. If anyone has the part number for an egr blanking plate it would be much appreciated as i need one now for my new engine.
