I have just spoke to a friend who owns a calibra and he mentioned that from a certain year on the body was galvanised.. is this true and did it apply to corsas to?

it is true, from 1995 facelift (v-grille) calibra's were all galvanised.

I have no idea about corsas, but to my knolledge other than the infamous chassis rails they dont suffer rot like some vauxhalls.

round the rear wiper, the B pillars and the lip under the bonnet are the worst places for rust
