ive got a same sort of problem, the noise comes from the power steering system.... it might be your steering rack. mine was fine but i bent it and replaced it with 1 from a scrappy and problem started from there... my steering is heavier when turning right.... do you find the wheel doesnt return bang on centre aswell?

I know for a fact its not my wheel bearing or tierod end aswell as my stepdads a mechanic and fixed the car for me. i actually snapped the trackrod and bent the steering rack and wishbone... it will be your steering rack or power steering...
