You never saw my GT, that was super reliable. 100k miles, same turbo, didn't have an oil change in 20k miles and went like stink.

I was bad, I did top it up though. That car had I had the money I have now could have been something special, should have kept it and had it sprayed and the engine all done up nice, proper suspension etc. Was a good car TBH, I just couldn't afford to run it properly back then.

Is it the engine, or the usual GT- Turbo syndrome of people whacking the boost up on the cheap, or a bit of both.
Jap will always be more reliable, but just always doubious about what happens should something break, and how long it'd take to get the parts with them being quite scarce, and then cost of said part

Yes definately! Most have been owned by boy racers who have ragged the hell out of them and cut corners on maintanence but you always get a few that have been looked after.

Thats what i meant, i've been looking at some small turbo hot hatches and most have just had the boost wound up etc... I wasn't saying they were crap but most of them are shit because they haven't been treated right.
