Few pics (sorry about poor quality, batteries need replacing on other camera)
After last years success of me and my dad installing my sisters kitchen I decided mine was in need of a bit of attention.
When I first got the place the kitchen was painted blue with some cheap blue lino down. The budget had been spent pretty much everywhere else so all I could afford was some more blue paint just refresh it a bit.
Soon after I had moved in I realised the lino really was not up to it so I managed get some new lino in wood effect.
The lino got ripped when my mate installed my new windows, I lived with that for a while but then decided to tile the floors and give the walls a new look.
Before:
During:
Finished:
while I was doing the kitchen thought it might look bit odd with lino still down in the bathroom and for the cost of three packs of tiles and bit more cement thought I would do that too
before:
After:
Join between bathroom and kicthen, quite pleased how this came out, the tiles run in one line from start to kitchen to end of bathroom

im very tempted to do the same to the kitchen myself.
Was the kitchen tiles expensive?
I wouldnt have a clue where to start though. What sort of stuff did you lay?

Isnt hard to do, depends on what surface you re lying them on, if its concrete, it is easier(think you might meed to lay a a membrain) but can use most flooring tile adhesives.
If its on a wooden floor, you need to level it off, i used 6mm ply, screwed it down, then pva on top then lay tiles on flexible tile adhesive and grout(allows for movement without cracking) and hey presto job is done.

quick drying adhesive to stick the tiles down.
Tiles were supposed to be £9 a pack, a pack is nine tiles which was 1sqm.
Went to homebase on 10% off day put price error meant got them for £5.34 a pack
Deffo recommend having a go yourself, there is great satisfaction in doing it yourself.
Did the bathroom first as that was easier than the kitchen to get the hang of things then moved onto the kitchen tiles. Pain moving things around (washer etc) then tiling under that then waiting for it to dry then moving something else.
