i have... K8V-MX MICRO ATX ATHLON + (currently) 512 (2X256MB) PC3200 DDR-MEMORY (400MHZ)
can i fit... Corsair 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300/5400 (667/675MHz)CL4 with Heat Spreader
lookin at that info im thinking not!? do i need the same mhz?

yes you need the same speed memory
also, your memory now is DDR, the new sticks of memory you wanted to put in are DDR2, they'll physically fit in the slots, but they won't work

you can put the faster memory in as it will adjust itself to run at the lower speed. but you will need DDR and NOT DDR2

I dont think the DDR2 will fit as its 240pins whereas DDR is 184pins

okay thanks, was only looking as they were on a good deal on hotukdeals.com for under £60! ill keep waiting til another deal comes up that i can use as im not that bothered
