1 of my mates has an e46 330ci and the other has a mk4 r32. nothing in it at all and i really was expecting the golf to be faster. that aside both are still fast cars and i probably would never get bored of the performance
have you considered a clio 172 cup? my mate just picked one up today and it would certainly give the above cars a very good run for there money

Dont really like Clio's
Another option could be another Impreza, I know of a really good P1 thats for sale, £11500 hes after, but running costs put me off a bit.
Think a P1 would cost much more to run than any of the other cars mentioned!! Would be older aswell.........not too keen about that!!

I'd go for the R32 myself. I drove one a while ago, so I'll be a bit biased
The interior is stunning if you get the recaro's. Handle superb, you can tell it's 4WD. As for slow (Jambo), I didn't think so myself. Goes with all the sluggish grunt that a v6 does. I thought it was fantastic. When I can afford to. I'm having one.

R32. Looks and sounds great. Will be fast enough for road use aswell.
Focus is cool but it looks really crappy inside which is where you spend most of your time after all.
Cooper S is nice but bit of a rip off price wise for the size of the car.
Audi A4 Cab would have to be a new shape S-line 2.0T which is big money. The older ones dont look half as nice.

Could get an Escort Cosworth for that, or not much more. Who in their right mind would opt for the ugmo?

Focus RS hands down just soooo much cooler and makes more snese than an R32 in terms of running costs too.
