cheap insurance?

are they reliable?? i been told that the 16v ones go rong alot of the time.. f knows y.. maybe a lie ??

and would a corsa be better for a first car than lets say... a 106 quicksilver or a saxo furio ??

Welcome to the site Ben.

Whoever told you they are unreliable is wrong mate, the 16v engines are perfectly fine, the 1.2 (SXi) does have a few sensors which can go wrong, but they're not "unreliable"

As for the Corsa being better than a Saxo/106, I'd say yes.

the 8v engines are generally more realiable than the 16v...and easier to work on if you intend to service/repair it yourself

welcome to the site dude, hmm, if your after a car for when you turn 17 i would sugguest going to somewhere like norwich unions website and getting yourself some quotes on different cars, will give you an idea of insurance costs because they are unfortunately not cheap as im sure you know. i was paying £1095 third party on a 1.4 diesel 106 when i first passed my test!

16v's arnt unreliable but for cheap first motoring id go with an 8v. Then you have cheaper insurance, parts and they are easy to learn on regarding mechanical things.

Lowering 40 or 60mm on 16's is nice

...and I think wheel spinning does more harm to the clutch than the gearbox
