That would be the lights around the stage Ben. The effect was intentional, creates a feeling of movement and energy rather than just a guy looking like hes strumming a guitar.

Was using a shutter speed of around 1/8sec, 2 flashes set to rear curtain.

ah right, didn't think you wanted the light works well though, makes your eye look all around the image and not just focus on the person
