my old netgear was fine for over a year, the new one is appaling and upon investigating it the problem is very wide spread seems to be a problem with the router that a lot of people are having.

Have you upgraded the firmware?

Before i got mine i'd heard that Netgears had some problems with disconnecting. But upgrading to the latest firmware stopped that.

Thats what i did and mines great. i do alot of remote work through it also

I've had a Netgear DG814 and a D834.... both failed.

At Ally's house im using an unlocked BT 2700HGV (made by 2wire, huge wireless range)

At my house im using a Belkin F5D9630uk.... no issues at all with it.

Linksys are stable in terms of connection. Not all that great in terms of life expectancy in my experience! Had a switch and wireless router die within the 12 month warranty.
