one of my mates is puttin c20xe in his nova but there is no number on the block well you can just about make out 3 digits thats it so can he just change the engine capacity or do you have to have a number??

i gave the dvla my engine number and size when i declaired mine

If you look from the front of the engine, just above the sump pan around the middle there will be a number on the block, i think its something to do with the year it was made.
