Talk about hybrid engines... Most people is just something like X16XE block with C16XE head... not mine...

Spent loads just faffing about finding parts...

X16XEL bottom end, X16XE head, Corsa GSi...

So far the bodge list includes (as the corsa bits spec'd for the car wouldn't fit):

Rear coolant hose - some Fiat in a scrappy
Aux drive belt - Vaux Arena Van

Still more to do... Was a full top-end rebuild (new valves, seals, etc...) and new rod bolts at bottom... Heads on, all timed up now, the new drive belt actually FITS!! Question is... will it fire up or just cough bang wheeze...

Just turn it over by hand first and then crank it on the starter with no injector or coilpack plugs on, that will get the oil pressure up before it runs.

Mine was tappy really bad when we first put it into the nova after the engine had been sitting for a while.

Did you put bit of oil around the lifters before you put the rest on?

Try taking the rocker cover off and putting bit of oil around all the lifters.

top end is quiet - its more lower down...

tbh I think its best to refit the water pump... the noise sounds like its coming from there
