Ive installed my new head unit kenwood and it only works wen i turn the ignition on not on the first turn of the key it also doesnt save presets or any settings thought this could be a bad power connection but they all the wires seem alrite ne 1 else had this problem knows how to fix it id b most appreciated

there are two power wires from your car loom and two from your headunit. They are usually red and yellow. The red is a perm live wire which means that there is ALWAYS power going to it. The yellow is an ignition live which means there is only power going to it when your IGNITION IS ON. You need to join the YELLOW and RED wires from the HEADUNIT together and join them BOTH to the RED wire from the CARS LOOM. This will sort your problem. obviously consult your HU instructions to find out what colours the LIVE power and the IGNITION power wires are.
