What make is it?

Electrolytic capacitors only have two connectors, + and -.

Quick note, remembering when first wiring it up to use the bulb supplied in series with the capacitor. Don't just wire it up straight to the battery for the box...

That'll be 1.0 farad by the way.

Dont touch the terminals once youve connected it cause it will shoot you across the road.

You need to connect the feed from the battery / switch etc to the + and the feed to the amp to the -

The readout out will be a resistive load that will dishcarge the capacitor over time, sometimes if they havent got a readout they'll have an internal resistor that will do the same job.

Maybe the third terminal is a relay that only allows the capacitor to be charged when the headunits turned on much like the REM lead from your headunit to your amp - just looped through the capaitor terminal instead.

Hmmmm. What does the manual say about charging it then? Also, surely that just tells you how to wire it up? It should just be two terminal, connected straight across the battery.

Yeah, sounds like it autosense the charging then, and you use the 3-rd terminal for a remote lead. Never seen it done like that b4....

If you wire 3 caps, they'd have to be in parallel (capacitance is added together in parallel, the opposite of resistance).

So you'd have something like this:

[BATT +]--[CAP1 +]--[CAP2 +]--[CAP3 +]--[AMP +]

and

[GND]--[CAP1 -]--[CAP2 -]--[CAP3 -]--[AMP -]
