Nah, it'll be BMW I reckon, great investment for them, they'll have a bigger percentage of the prestige market by buying Jaguar, and Land Rover would secure most of the 4x4 market for them too.

Can't see Japanese or Chinese companies getting their hands on them TBH.

The thing is, the people who were saying they use a lot of fuel were right, even if they are more efficient now, they're not going to be as good as a smaller car.

New Jag XJ does 39mpg (which was the bloke's defence)
Fiat Panda does 75mpg (ish)

There's no arguing about it really, all the people wh defend 4x4s and big barges are stupid

(I'm not saying everyone should have a Fiat Panda BTW but not EVERYONE needs to have a 4x4. 4x4s should be banned unless you have a straw hat and a tractor)

Fiat Panda 4x4 = 0-60 in 23 secs.

FTW!

The MPG of a car doesn't matter. There is no such thing as an efficient car. They all weigh nearly a tonne or over, and they only carry about 90kg of cargo most the time.

Did BMW used to own Land Rover at the same time that they owned Rover?

A car which can do less miles to a tank of fuel uses more fuel on a journey, so it's less efficient, how can that not matter?

Ford bought Rover and Land Rover, then sold Rover to BMW but kept Land Rover I think.
