Cheers for looking, didnt think anoyone would because of the lowering question.

I am running on TSW Evo R's 15" with 195/45 tyres on them, the offset is I believe ET45.

I was thinking of going 60mm drop, but I am now considering going lower, somewhere around 70-80mm so it stands out a little bit more.

Does anyone know which manufacturers do this without spending loads on coilovers.
Also could someone supply me with a link/phone number to get hold of what you suggest, or at least get a price.

Cheers again people,
Sean.

I dont think I am going to get major problems with it that low, arch space will be minimal and debolting etc will be done but I think I should be fine with a 70mm - 80mm drop.

Can I just run the shocks on bump stops so that they dont compress, because when that low I will not want much give because it will rag the arch if I am turning.

You would have a really harsh ride if you are riding on the bump stops! Your suspension would no doubt fail after long too, also, you may find that the car will dart al over the road tram-lining and following potholes etc in the road.

Your only chance would be to get hydraulics or coilovers. Both expensive im afraid!

yer what front bumper do u have?

i surpose u could get 60mm springs then chop a coil off or something, but ur shocks wouldent last 2mins

coilovers or hydrolics is the only way i think

I think you would be better of spending the extra cash on coilovers to start with, rather than having custom springs amde up and having to kepp replacing standard shocks. If you want something that really stands out why not go for airbags or hydraulics? leave the car slammed when you park it and raise it up to cruise over speed bumps

I was going to uprate the shocks aswell, not just go for a spring drop. I will have to chuck Spax an e-mail to find out if they can help me out. I feel though that if I go for a drop that low then I am going to have to keep replacing stuff, I will probably just go for 60mm drop, just trying to see what my other options are because I think it would look great with a low drop!!

at the above. If u were to drop 80mm on std shocks u'd b mental anyway. U'd eat thru ur existin shocks, the ride/handling wud be appauling and above all, it wud prob b dangerous as well. I wudnt ever even suggest -60mm to anyone on std shocks. Ur DEFINATELY gonna have to uprate ur shocks all round, to good quality ones as well - summat like Bilstien etc. I severly doubt shocks such as GMAX/APEX will handle that kinda drop either.

But tell u wot, it'll look mental. Dont worry bout arch probs mate, coz there are ppl on this board with -65mm drops on 17"s with simple debolting etc.

sorted

Yeah I aint worried about the aches and rubbing and all that.

I am buying some Pi shocks 30%uprated and 60mm Gmax springs, second hand off of someone for £85.

That will do me, if I dont like it and have to have it lower then i am sure I could find somewhere that sells just low springs.

But at the moment the work and cost involved makes it seem not worth my while to drop itthat low.
