Better go a tad careful here.....on Ians behalf.
Lets just say it starts with an 'N' and ends with power shall we?
I've had the impression the cunts have been ripping me off for years....they always seem to have me 'in credit' and are VERY reluctant to give me money back when I ask for it
Since I spend more time at the missus now, i asked them for a balance....low and behold im about £100 in credit:-
'No problem sir, we will credit your bank account accordingly'
Three weeks later I get a 'statement' saying I'm only a tenner in credit....no mention of me being £100 in credit at the end of the last quarter...
To cap it off, the missus asked me to look at her bill....and her electricty supplier is about 50% the cost of N *cough* power.
Uswitch has just confirmed I could save about £450 a year by switching.
Damn my lethargy in sorting such matters out

Right.
This has pissed me right off now.
Npower read my meter in feb and sent me a statement that told me I was £110 in credit.
I read my meter last month and they agreed the reading....immediately afterwards they sent me a statement....I'm no longer in credit.
Long and short?
Between Oct and Feb I paid an agreed DD for my electricity....I ended up in credit.
Apparently ive now used my DD payments plus £70 since feb...

Scottish Power make it up as well. My DD has been both under £30pm and over 80.
I just try and ensure I owe them money not the other way around so if the balance looks low, phone and reduce the payment. If that doesn't work, cancel it. They won't cut you off if you claim it was a genuine mistake.

Scxottish power have put mine upto £126 a month They say I am £212 behind..SO I said yeah it's the summer now so I continiue to pay my £65 a month and that will come down as I won't be using it...It don't work like that anymore and it's assesed every 3 months..So for 3 months at least I am paying £126
I can't change my supplier either due to my house having 2 meters for peak and off peak rates and no other supplier will touch them...Scottish power rufuse to take them out and replace them with 1 meter as they know I will switch suppliers..

Oh the irony.
I had a bill today asking for £170.... this pished me off a tad. I know/knew I'm in credit.
According to Npower I was £70 ish in credit on my account following the period July-december (meter reading)......im now -£10 december to April (another meter reading)
According to Npower I should build up credit in the summer to cover the winter months.
Fair enough i said...then added that perhaps July to Dec shouldn't be any different to Jan to April apparently the former is winter, the latter is 'summer'
Cue condescending comments from a tele sales person who thinks he knows all there is to know....
I live near bristol and have switched to scottish power
And im saving £150 a year through uswitch.
I passed the info onto the parents (with gas through british gas and elec through Npower) and they are looking at a £500ish saving over the year by switching both.
Switching is certainly worth looking into

Had an e-mail from uswitch explaining the 'switch' this afternoon.
On uswitch I simply added my address and DD info...my new supplier is doing all the rest. All I have to do is give a meter reading on the 'switch' date.
So all seems to be going smoothly. I'll updat that comment when ive finally been transferred mind you
