PC in dining room along with BB cable comes right in from outside, now i am going to convert a large cupboard into a pc / gaming room but it's at other end of house..

Really don't want to route BB cable over floors and through house etc...

Is it possible to re-route BB wireless from where the bb is the now to the room where pc is going?

other option is to take it over the roof on the outside and inot room directly?

any help appreciated.....

You would put the wireless router wherever the phone/cable line is.

Then you need a wireless adapter for both your pc and 360 and then you can use the net/live from the other side of the house.

SO you would not recommend them then Suppose I would need to get Virgin out to route the BB cable over the house and down other side into room..But don't know if they would do it? with going over roof etc?

There is nothing greatly wrong with wireless if its hassle to wire everywhere up, its just that a wired connection is better.

So I wouldnt be too bothered if its going to be a load of work, just use wireless and it'll be fine!

The work involved it routing BB cable from rear of the outside of the house to front so over roof as I wouldn't want it going through house, from room to room..

I would prefer to keep it wired but will have to see if Virgin will route and extend the BB cable to where i want it...

On average how much would all the hardware be to go wireless like I said above?

Also is there a safety issue with wireless, ppl tapping in etc?

Can get a router/modem for about £80. Then would need wireless adapters for both the PC and the Xbox (and whatever else you want online) which shouldnt be too expensive if they dont have them already.

Not too bad then..Would just be PC and Xbox...

Might give virgin a phone tomorrow to see if they would move the cable to where I want and if not look into going wireless

xbox 360 wireless adapter is £59.99 (although you get a wireless bridge that does the same job for around £35.00)

cable router can be had for £40.00, i actually got one from asda the other week it works very well, only £40.

pc needs a wireless dongle or pci card can be had for around £15 - £20
