dont talk piss mattigs/snowy....
power to weight ratio it is one of the fastest cars going.. have better fun in that than in a corsa anyday.. the reason a lot of people say they are unreliable is because theyll tune them to feck without modifying the cooling system....
dont slate something u know nothing about....
its probably the easiest tuning 1400cc engine in the hot hatch world....

2.2 RWD Lotus Chevette.
MkII Mexico
Metro 6R4
And any group B rally car (road going version of the day.)
Ive driven a GTT completley standard amd I wasnt impressed. They handle like a leaf sprung landrover of the 1970's.
The Pug 205GTi was probably the best hot hatch as std ever! Havnt driven a standard 1 but ive had a go around Kirkiston Circut in a Gp N 1.9. Very impressed.

205 Gti 1.9 for its pace
205 Gti 1.6 for all round balance
MK2 Golf Gti 16v a contender too.

mk2 golf 16v still haven't driven anything more enjoyable
also id agree with BigW, HSR Chevette would be well up on my list but alot of these aren't hot hatches, they are specialist cars, as is the Golf Rallye
think a hot hatch would be classed as a high perfomance mass production car

I'd say the Lancia Delta Integrale, not the best looking car in the world, but if you've driven one you'll understand why i've chose it.
JayC- How can it not be classed as a Hot Hatch

because it's a specialist car, wasn't a mass production car it was a rally homogulation(sp?) car
so would you consider an Evo as a hot hatch? or an Escort Cosworth?

Point taken, although The Knowledge Section in the back of EVO magazine does list the Lancia in it's hot hatch section (as is the Escort Cosworth). Also if you are refering to a Mitsubishi Evo surely they would be classed as a sports saloon rather than a Hot Hatch. However for sake of argument I would probably choose the 1.6 205 GTI in my opinion it is a far more involving drive than the 1.9

Civic Type R EK9 (not the new one)... double wishbones all round, recaros, 185ps from NA 1.6 litres, 0-60 in under 6 seconds. Easily my favourite.
