drian all used oil, remove oil filter, drain it completely, put it back, get some cheap (or vaux) semi 10-40, fill in about a liter, run engine for a while, drain again, new filter, and refill with proper 10-40 semi GM

a m8 of mine told me about engine flush as he uses it in his p1 scooby, but i have heard that it can damage older engines so think i will use sum cheap oil as u said to flush it threw.
so u drain the old oil
then put the cheap oil in
let it tick over for about 15mins
then drain it
remove old filter
fit new filter
and fill up with 10w40 gm oil

The best flush is as follows:

Drain the existing oil/filter while it's still warm. Let it drain completely.
Pour in a good quality *thin* oil, like a straight SAE10 or SAE20
Drive the car around for 20-30 miles without revving it too hard. Not motorway miles, just around the neighbourhood, it needs varying speeds and loads.
Drain this oil/change the filter (again). Let it drain for as long as possible
Pour in the new oil.
This is arguably much better than any flush can.

forte engine flush

All cars that have oil changes at vauxhall have this run in before hand. It does work.

Wouldn't use any others but i have faith in forte products, my forte rep knows his stuff...he used to work with Simon Norris

this is slightly puzzling me, if your pouring in cheaper oil to 'flush' the system then some of this is still going to be left in the engine.

Flush will loosen all of this and then drain it out, however on high miler cars can also uncover more problems.

garages do it to make money, not for a good service.
