Hi guys,

just reading a few topics the other day and I have noticed that some people are talking about how fast their car goes in what gear (eg 1st = 30Mph)

I've always wanted to try and get my Corsa (1.6 Sport) to 60Mph in 2nd gear however I don't like to rant the s**t out of it....!!!!

Has anyone got 60 in 2nd? my mate in his polo GTI can do it and I want to too!!!!!!!

I've also noticed that isn't it all something to do with setup (gear ratio) because I have messed around with my 934Bhp Skyline (Forza 2) and That did 200Mph in 1st gear.... yea 200Mph first gear...!!!!

it is to do with your gear ratios.i.e. a bigger box will make a higher speed in each gear.

Xsara VTR doesn't seem that fast mate? my sport does better speeds than that?

speed in gears has nothing to do with how fast a car is

you will never get 60mph out of 2nd because you cant rev that high due to the rev limiter

I spose you are right... the most I've had outa my Sport was about 52 I think in 2nd - but my mate who owns a 205 1.4 Roland Garros says he can just get 60 out of it - however my sport is quicker....?

yes but yours will go through the gears quicker than his.

yeah, ie change from 2nd to 3r
at 7k rpm, the revs will only drop to about 5.5/6k and its straight back up there

45mph in 1st 70mph in 2nd 105mph in 3rd 125mph in 4th and 5 well the clock does not go the far.. Old Corsa 2.0 16v Carbs

the 106 gti is a car geared towards 0-60's hence why only having 1 gear changed to get to 60

1st - Around 32mph
2nd - Around 55mph
3rd - Around 83mph
4th - Around105mph
5th - Goes off my 1.4 130mph clocks so dont know
