I've tiled walls and concrete floors before but my house has a tongue and groove raised floor downstairs.
How do you tile onto Wood? Are there any special measures or 'Underlay' equivalents?

cross members; the footings of the house are a foot or so below floor level, the joists then raise set the floor at the correct level; no creaks or squeaks and it's fairly level.
Pretty much how most of the houses in the village sem to be built

There is tile adhesive you can buy so you can use on top off wood surfaces, think it was unibond readymix adhesive iirc

Fit wbp ply to the floor first, 12mm preferably. Then lay your tiles to the top of that.

My Dad did the bathroom by screwing ply wood to the floor boards and the laid the tiles. Was down for years until my nan moved in and had to put down non-slip stuff down and put in a walk in shower.

It wouldnt be a bad idea to paint the ply with a watered down PVA mix to seal it. We do this at work before the tilers come in.

you can get special grout also that flexes so it wont crack. i used it in my downstairs toilet and it was a nightmare to work with. ended up taking it all out and just put normal grout in. hasn't shown any sign of cracking yet 12 months later.

glue and screw ply down to existing floor, screw every 8 inches approx
then just tile on top ot that

yeah as said above you need to put some plywood down and put PLENTY of screws in otherwise it will flex and all th grout will crack

you can also pour on some stuff ontop of the ply to level it all off and allows for a little movement in the flooring to prevent the grout cracking (scree I think it might be called).
Had that done on our kitchen floors and worked a wonder!

Only need to Latex level the floor if it is really pissed. other than that, use ply, can use anything from 5-22mm depending on what the joists are like and how much movement there is in them and the boards on top of them.
seal the boards first with a suitable primer sealer (unibond PVA)
Use a porcelain adhesive and a flexible acrylic based grout.
if all done well you shouldnt have any problems.
