Had a engine managment test done and it came back as...
Po400 - Linear EGR System.
Firstly what is this? is it major? because the guy said it will cost 200 quid for a new one! 
Ive been driving around for a while now with the engine managment light on but there doesnt seem to be any change with the driving aspect, but i think it needs to be sorted as my MOT is fast approaching!

sounds like its the exhaust gas recirculation valve, id just bridge the connection remove the valve and blank it off

Cheers Kurt! Still abit confused on what to do though! haha!
Is it causing any problems me driving with eml on? and will it fail MOT if i dont get it sorted/blanking plates?
I get abit worried driving with it on for long distances!

not sure about mot as ive not done it, just thought that would be a cheaper alternative

when mine stuck open it wouldnt iddle it would just keep dropin in revs with it cut out, dirt and bits of carbon get in the valve if you get a brand new one it wil cost around £200 fitted

I dont notice any change though! Been like it since ive had car! 6months! 
So Blank off egr valve?
Or Remove it and clean it?
Or Just pay 200 quid on a new one?

dont buy one mate, my car has just had the same problem, all you need to do is remove the valve, which sits below the engine cover (silver circle thingy) clean it out with carb cleaners and make sure all the crap is out then put it back on and hopefully it will clear like mine did!

depends what engine, x14/16 are at the rear of the engine and a pig to get at / remove,
symptoms i got were slightly lumpy idle, and revs sticking at 1.5 after a mway trip and it was hesitating when setting off when stuck at 1.5k

I found out the problem today!!the guy who had the car last bodged it up!! basically it has a newish egr unit!, but the idiot put it in the wrong place!! took it to 3 garages including vauxhall and they couldnt believe it! Its booked in to garage now!! so will hopefully be
