Wheres the best place to pick up a GSi grille in decent condition?
And how hard is it to smooth over the grille recess?

the recess isnt too hard to fill in, its just a little time consuming. it can be done with really thin mesh to bridge the gap then fibre glass matt to build on it and then filler on the top. you could use p40 fibre glass instead but it generally cracks unless you build it slightly over the front of the bumper and manage to smooth it in, thats what ive done and its fine so far.
im guessing you do know that if you fill in the recess you wont be able to use the gsi grill?

use a thin mesh then fibreglass over the back of the mesh... fibreglass over the front of the mesh but do it neatly and filler
