He still hasn't walked away properly, looks like it was a bearing failure or a bodywork part that then damaged the tyre

In an ambulance, on a stretcher and on oxygen
Don't think he will be racing tomorrow unfortunately.

They would do that for a grazed knee in Formula 1

Not really, just looks bad because the suspension is inside the tyre wall somewhere.. The main shell looked straight and in one piece..

nasty crash, nothing really slowed the impact at all
Looked more like something on the car affected the tyre rather then the tyre iteself due to the smoke before etc
Drives supercharged Tec with torque

Wheel nut could have still been on but giving the wheel bearing a lot of stress...

didn't think of that, perhapps it wasn't threaded on properly, there was certainly smoke coming from the wheel before it fully deflated!
Eitherway, hopefully he'll beable to drive tomorrow, but i think it'll be unlikely

It wasnt fastened on tight enough.
Loosened during the lap, by the corner of the crash it was loose enough for the wheel to have movement. This movement caused the tyre to foul the bodywork, and in turn deflate the tyre
