i was hoovering my room after my uncle ripped out my built in units and hoovering away dust and wooddust stuff but its seems to have lost suction and is making a weird shhh shhh shh shhh shhh shh noise, seems to be coming from a little vent below the power switch, looks like some kind of valve? anyone else had the same problem?

just ring them, as IIRC their customer service is top notch and they normally replace most broken ones.

If its in warranty take it to where you bought it from, if not call dyson

might find filter is clogged, change it or wash if washable. hoovered up loads of brick and plaster dust with ours and lost suction for above reason.

I've had two Dysons and can conform BOTH lost suction. I replaced all the filters etc and they were still shite.
I bought a Miele and never locked back, it's excellent!

exactly the same has happened to mine mate, i moved in 8 months ago, ok ive been doing minor building work in the house but not like tryin to suck bricks up or out, an mine lost suction an makin a queer noise, havent noticed the valve though, mine a dc07 but the pipe hardly picks anything up at all now but the main bit is just about holding out, i was going to take it to get serviced but could i phone them an they'll replace parts or the hoover? as i didnt send the guarentee off when i first got it, i have checked all filters an pipes for blockages too but no joy

Dysons are crap. They are prone to failure.
