would it be a silly idea to get a grand loan to fix up the car?

i earn about 700 a month after tax.

Yes, just save over 2/3 months and then pay outright.

Dont do it mate. i have 2 loans outstanding and im only 18. its not good lol. I am an apprentice and get 620 per month after tax and am paying 220 on loans on there own

hmmmm ok

3 months time then = 1000 after spendage saved...

shopping list =

have chassis proffesionally re-re-rewelded lmao
new full longlife exhaust system (that will line up with my new GTE rear bumper )
bucket seats
new full suspension
lots of little engine stuff lik BMC, hosing, ecu etc...

then its save save save for throttle bodies and engine bay welding

as john said, if you can't afford it then dont get it

i have a car on finance but that's only because i'm in a stable, well paid job. imho, i wouldn't risk i as you get fucked over with interest etc

tbh id be surprised if you got all that for a grand.

chassis re-welded - ?
full system - 350?
buckets - 350?
suspension - 200?
engine stuff - hoses cost a fortune

my mate who works full time in a garage and has like 8 years experience is doing the chassis for 200

suspension = second hand goodies!

i guess your right about the hoses.

edit ...

also kingsleys uncle (my mateyyy) is involved with btcc and can get buckets for 150

ahhhh i love it.


150 for buckets plus 50 for subframes
350 for system
100/150 for an alright suspension set up
chassis 200 from the garage where my mate does t and has 8 years experience.


mwill probs leave the hosing

group buy on bucket seats lol, ye i wouldnt get a loan iv screwed my self over with em and cant get credit (not saying youd go down same route) just not worth it save up.

hosing does look awesome but it is expensive. youl get a decent 2nd hand suspension set up for a decent price.
